The Chicken Clan was made around Easter 2000. I don’t know the actual date but I think it was around 22.4.00 it is just a few months younger than WWW. CKC was made when I was just a newbie and the founding members were myself, Ashley2002 and Stipey.
CKC had a bumpy ride for its first year. With it dying a couple of times from me getting tired of leading and all the members leaving when we were new as we sucked in WACL as we hardly knew any schemes. This was when the WACL had an orange and black design and they hosted the allstarcup for a season brake. HoS, TEA and other clans were the top ones then like The Donkey Clan EWS, I think EiF was merged with DFA at the time. So with all the tough competition I got rid of all the members and enjoyed some solo worm time.
This didn’t last long as me and Ashley2002 remade CKC and people came back, around this age of CKC we had the blue cheese website if any of you can remember it here is a screenshot.
Things went well and more members joined. We kept a steady record in WACL but never reached the top of the four divisions to be placed in PRO when WACL was divided into PRO and AM divisions. In The first season of AM we reached the playoffs but sadly didn’t take the victory. This placed us in PRO and we got owned by HoS, TEA, EiF, BngK and other top clans at the time. I got upset and took a brake from leading in which space I joined WiB.
My time in WiB was short and I was already planning the return of CKC and was working on a website. I came up with this design.
At this stage of CKC’s life it was at its most successful in leagues. We had a great rooster with many skillfull BnGers and defaulters. We played well in WACL AM and got our first and only league victory in 12.04.01. We went on to play HoS for the world cup of WACL (winner of AM vs winner of PRO and we came out losing it to HoS 1-2 on a 9hp difference in a BnG that IBB did some evil darksiding.) After this we were put in PRO and we did well in there reaching playoffs, the same thing happened when AM and PRO was mixed together and CKC was reaching the semi finals and finals of WACL on a monthly basis. We lost 1 final to EiF 1-2. I remember how close the pro was! We faced HoS and TEA in playoffs as well. This success came from the high believers of CKC’s most well-known god: Skully. KillerkonijN created this great icon that formed a cult that even made it into other gaming communities. Skullist flash movies, avatars, sigs and websites were made and he even H@X’d a few forums in revenge to the unfaithful. Check out the Skullism section for more details.
Sadly CKC never got an overall WACL victory but it came very close. Just the length of CKC’s life is more rewarding than a league victory. To this day we haven’t done that well in a leagues but this could easily change.
After this success things went a bit inactive and good players left and formed other clans. We didn’t do well in IBB’s WL league but I was putting time in WWP and single matches. vP was being made for this first time with it merging CKC WWP and an WWP clan called qV. CKC became a lot more relaxed and didn’t care about loses and inactivity.
We carried on living with this attitude just breezing through worms and having fun. Months turned into years and CKC became older and older seeing a completely different set of members and a completely different worming community. During this relaxed stage it was cl2k only and members enjoyed this flexibility and playing in other clans for a different league which were WCL and ECL. So CKC stayed alive and remained relaxed. It didn’t do too well in leagues again as it became a lot less competitive.
But for its stable and long live in W:A it has gained very loyal members that know CKC will be here forever. For being a clan that is 5 and a half years old and looking at it 6 th year birthday come this Easter I would argue for CKC to be the most successful clan in W:A for staying alive and active for this long. This history has been hard to write as its tough trying to remember what happened over all the years and I may well have missed things out but I am so pleased with CKC and its achievements for an online clan. It has done everything a clan can do and I never dreamed it would come this far. More success shall come to CKC as it still remains active, providing the worms community with a good level of competition and truly is a credit to W:A.
